My name is Bridget Nalwoga, a mentor, a nurse and a servant educator of society. Born in Uganda living in the Netherlands. I grew up in a big family. I have many sisters and brothers. One of my sisters Jane was born with a disability. Jane had many great qualities and talents. She was very good at handcraft & so much more. Unfortunately she didn’t get the chance to showcase her talent because society focused more on her disability, every one treated her with pity and sympathy. Though I was young, the way society treated her made an impact on me and I knew that one day I would try my best to change the way society views people with disabilities from sympathy to empathy.
Growing up I wanted to help people. I followed my heart and became a nurse at Mengo school of nursing and midwifery. I worked in different hospitals and communities. During my days as a nurse, I encountered many families like mine where there were children with disabilities.

In 2008 I got in contact with Mr Lubowa Ramathan through my mother. Mr Lubowa has a visible disability himself but unlike others he didn’t let this stop him from chasing his dreams and helping others. When we met he had great ideas on how people with disabilities could be empowered but unfortunately society was not giving him an ear.
From the day I got in contact with mr Lubowa up up until now we have worked together as a team to change society’s outlook on people with disabilities
We have done projects such as Nkwenge culturel troup where disadvantaged youth are empowered to discover their talents and qualities.
We served in communities, distributed basic life supplies such as food, clothes , books etc . We have also had gatherings in different communities, churches and schools where we shared our personal stories. All this we have done with different volunteers who were inspired by our vision.
Here in the Netherlands where I live I do many volunteering projects with the elderly and youth. The projects are mainly aimed at cultural exchange, educating and building bridges between people so that they can connect more with each other.
